So this has nothing to do with sewing or baking or anything but more of a pondering upon personal image… which kinda relates to my blog in a tenuous manner as I make corsets…or something…

So I follow a few body image type thingys on tumblr. Curveappeal and a few others.

I  am also, being faced with my approaching wedding and the “OMGEVERYONEWILLBELOOKINGATME” trauma, obsessing more on my appearance (which says a lot because really I am quite vein)  and general distaste in myself at the moment.

And I turned my mind towards peoples perceptions of an individual. I mean I look at an image of someone and think I’d give anything to look like them, but then other people will see it as unattractive or even unhealthy. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, but it’s also that perception and how people interpret you as a person.

For example during my life time I have been compared to several different celebrities, none of whom look alike, or like me.

When I was young (like early/mid teens) someone once said I looked like:

Drew Barrymore

By mid/late teens I was compared to:

Cate Blanchett

By my early 20’s (when I died my hair red) someone said I looked like:

Alyson Hannigan

However: who I would absolutely love to look like more than anyone in the world is:

Rachel Weisz

But what I actually look like:

I don’t think any of the above images really bare any resemblance to each other at all.
